Changelog

What's new on WAL STUDIO — newest first.

The right picture when you share a series

  • Sharing a link to a series or one of its episodes now shows that series' own cover image, title and description in the preview, instead of the general WAL Studio banner.

A receipt you can keep

  • Every payment now has a proper receipt page showing the amount, what it was for, the date and the reference. Open it and print it, or save it as a PDF for your records.
  • The link sits in your payment email and opens straight away, with no need to log in first.
  • A Receipts page in your account gathers everything you have ever paid for here in one place, whether it was a ticket, a gift, an episode or a series.

What happens to an event after it ends

  • Hosts now decide up front what becomes of an event once it finishes. It can stay watchable for everyone who already had access, move to on demand, or close for good.
  • A recording that goes on demand can carry its own price, and the host chooses who pays: people who bought the live show keep it, everyone buys the recording, or it opens free to all.
  • Events closed for good no longer sit in the past events list. If it was a one off, it now behaves like one.

Dollar earnings for event hosts

  • If your events sell in dollars, that money now earns you a share the way naira sales always have. It used to be left out of your balance entirely.
  • Your earnings page has a tab for each currency. The two are kept completely apart, each with its own balance, its own bank details and its own payout requests, so nothing is ever converted or mixed together.
  • Dollar sales carry the higher fees that international card payments really cost, so your share reflects what actually landed rather than a naira estimate.
  • Any statement opens as a clean printable page you can save as a PDF, carrying whatever dates and currency you were looking at, so you have something to file or send on.

Event reminders that actually arrive

  • If a reminder could not go out at the exact minute it was due, it used to be dropped for good. Now it goes as soon as we can send it, so a reminder you asked for reaches you.
  • Reminders tell you the real time left before the event starts, so one that arrives a little behind says how long you have rather than promising you an hour you do not have.
  • Ask for a reminder close to the start and you get one email, not several arriving at once.

A full report for every event you host

  • Every event now has its own report: who watched, how long they stayed, what they watched on and what they paid, alongside chat activity and the busiest hours of the night.
  • The access list covers everyone entitled to the event, including the people who paid and never turned up. The old list could only show those who did.
  • Take any of it with you as a spreadsheet, or print the whole report to PDF with your own branding on it.
  • You can also pull an earnings statement for any range of dates, showing what each event took, what the payment provider kept, and how the rest was split.

Better pages when something goes wrong

  • Hit a broken link, an expired form or a page you cannot open, and you now get a page that looks like the rest of the site, says plainly what happened, and gives you a button to go back instead of leaving you stuck.
  • These pages keep working even when the platform itself is having trouble, so you get a real explanation rather than a blank error screen.

Earnings and payouts for event hosts

  • If you host an event you now have an Earnings page showing what each of your events has taken and what your share of it comes to, worked out on the money that actually landed after the payment provider takes its cut.
  • Save your bank details once, then request a payout whenever your balance is ready. You can follow a request from the moment you send it right through to the day it is paid.
  • Hosts and moderators now only see the payment records for the events they run, never anyone else on the platform.
  • Your balance always reflects what is genuinely still yours. Anything you have asked for is set aside the moment you request it, and if a sale is refunded after you were paid, your page tells you plainly instead of quietly showing you nothing.

Free passes now open every kind of event

  • When a host gives you free access to a private event, it now opens straight away instead of still asking you for the access code.

Receipts for series and episode purchases

  • Buy an episode, a bundle or a series subscription and you now get a confirmation email with what you paid and a link straight to it, the same way single events have always worked.
  • Subscription receipts tell you the date your access runs to and remind you that you can turn off auto renewal whenever you like.

Payments always find their way through

  • If a payment goes through at the bank but the confirmation gets lost on the way back, the platform now re-checks it every few minutes and unlocks your access on its own.
  • This covers the slow ones too, like a bank transfer that lands long after you have closed the tab.
  • Series and episode payments now appear alongside everything else in the payment records, in the revenue totals, and in your own account history, so nothing you have paid for goes unaccounted for.

Prices now show in your own currency

  • Series and episode pages now show the price in the currency you will actually be charged in, so a dollar price no longer appears with a Naira sign on it.
  • You only see payment methods that can take your currency, instead of picking one and finding out at checkout that it will not work.
  • When an event is not offered where you are, the page now says so plainly rather than telling you it is not on sale yet.

Tidier floating buttons

  • The Submit an Event button and the live chat no longer sit on top of each other, so both stay easy to see and tap on your phone and in the installed app.

Countdowns for upcoming events & episode pages

  • Got access to an event that has not started yet? You now see a live countdown to the start time instead of a blank screen, and you are let in automatically the moment it goes live.
  • Every episode in a series now has its own page with full details, so you can see what it is about before you join, then jump back to the series in one tap.
  • Series playlists now show each episode’s start date and time, so you always know when to come back.

Downloadable event materials

  • Events can now share downloadable materials like PDFs, slides, images and worksheets, so you can follow along and keep them afterwards.
  • You will find them under Event materials on the watch page, ready to download the moment you have access to the event.
  • Only people with access to an event can open its materials, so paid and private events stay protected.

Series & episodes

  • Follow your favourite creators across a whole series. Subscribe once and watch every episode as it drops.
  • Flexible access: subscribe to the full series, buy a single episode, or unlock one with a passcode.
  • Recurring subscriptions renew on their own each week or month, and you can switch off automatic renewal anytime from My Series.
  • Every series now has its own page with a banner and a clean episode playlist, so you always start in the right place.
